Thank you

While many are busy preparing for tomorrow's big feast and celebration, it amazes me how it's only this time of the year that that most of us have set aside time to have a meal with our family and give thanks.  Why should we be grateful and count our blessings only on the third Thursday in November?  Why is it that we only make an effort to sit down and eat with our family on Thanksgiving or Special Religious Holidays?

If only we could count 5 things we are grateful for each night, our lives will transform. We will start focusing on the good and appreciate everything around us, including the soft breeze that gently caresses our face, the warmth of the sunlight and a friend's hug and Electricity!

This Thanksgiving, I have a lot to be grateful for and I can't thank the Lord enough for saving our home from Sandy.  Not having electricity for a week was a challenge, but eating with candle light was very soothing.  My heart and prayers go to those who have been affected by Sandy, may you receive comfort, power and heat soon and may your faith never flicker but continue to ignite.

God bless you all and have an amazing Thanksgiving!

Joy and Love,

Jyoti

P.S.  Go for that second helping of your mom's delicious apple pie!

The New Kick in My Block

Did you know that this is the original Sriracha? Mrs. Chakkapak created it in her kitchen in Si Racha, Thailand, for her family and friends. See article  from Bon Appetit by Andrea Nguyen. I came across this chopstick-licking sauce, which is hot, yet slightly sweet, during my trek to the Thai Grocery Store. I prefer it to the sweet chili sauce with loads of pepper seeds. Sriraja has the right kick! What I especially appreciate is that it is free of preservatives and artificial coloring and has no msg!  Can't wait to dig in to my bowl of noodles! Bon appétit! Jyoti

People Come into Your Life for a Reason

Have you ever felt that you have met the person standing across from you before? Do you run into the same person twice in a day? Ever thought of someone and immediately hear from them or bump into them? Are you glad you made a new friend? Did an Angel help you today? Here's a popular poem for you to enjoy as you welcome this new season in your life: P eople come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person. When someone is in your life for a REASON , it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty; to provide you with guidance and support; to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end....
