Lost in Candy Land

Couple of days ago, I missed my stop on the subway and landed up on 34th Street.  I looked for uptown train signs only to find out that I would have to swipe my card again if I wanted to go back! Uggh!  I decided to exit and perhaps go to the meditation center.  Upon reaching the street level, I backed out of the meditation center idea 'cause it was couple of avenues away and it had started raining. I quickly noticed that I was only 1/2 a block from the B&H Photo Store.  Perfect. The memory chip for my camera had cracked recently and needed to be replaced.  So off I went to B&H. I had heard so much about B&H - expecting it to be a regular camera store was sooo shocked and amazed!  I found myself like a little girl lost in the candy store!  OMG!  Was this Santa Land? Conveyor belts carrying  products up and down, so many gadgets, so muchhh to just get yourself lost into.  Lighting, Tents, Tripods, Lenses, Cameras and more Cameras.  The intention had been to

Confidence or Courage Anyone?

Essential oils have been used to treat illnesses, physical conditions as well as emotional issues.   Valor is one of Young Living's most popular oils.  It is serves many purposes; however, it is well known for providing confidence and courage.  It also is known as the "Chiropractor in a Bottle" as it helps balance and align the body; and if applied before an adjustment, it prolongs the benefits of same. Valor is a blend of Rosewood, Blue Tansy, Frankincense and Spruce in a carrier oil of almond.  It can be diffused, inhaled or applied to the bottom of your feet, wrists, neck and spine.   Valor is great to use for anxiety, i.e., stage fright or before your presentation. Inhale deeply and apply to feet, neck and chest. Have a room mate or partner who snores?  Suggest they apply Valor to the bottom of their feet!   I apply Valor to the bottom of my feet every morning so that I can welcome each new day with courage and confidence to sail forth!  Would you like t

People Come into Your Life for a Reason

Have you ever felt that you have met the person standing across from you before? Do you run into the same person twice in a day? Ever thought of someone and immediately hear from them or bump into them? Are you glad you made a new friend? Did an Angel help you today? Here's a popular poem for you to enjoy as you welcome this new season in your life: P eople come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person. When someone is in your life for a REASON , it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty; to provide you with guidance and support; to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

What do you look at ....

What do you look at very frequently throughout the day? What comes to your mind without over thinking the question?  Try not to take more than 10 seconds. Just write what comes up. What is your answer? Let me guess:  Your watch or clock? The mirror? iPhone or smartphone? If your response was "watch or clock" ~ We spend more time looking at the time - Father Time is not going to wait for us.  The hands on the watch aren't just going to stop so that we can finish our projects or errands (unless it runs out of battery)!  Instead let's use that time to finish our tasks.  Try not wearing your watch for a day or so and see how frustrating it is at first; however, later, you start to feel lighter and less stressed 'cause you are not drawing your attention as often to the time. If your response was "mirror" ~ Thank you for being honest!  "Mirror, mirror on the wall - who's the fairest of them all?"  Don't worry - no one

Tame the Tiger

This was today's thought for the day.  Never, never give give up. My Guru, Dada J. P. Vaswani, says "All was well, All is well, All will be well."  Always believe that you are divinely protected and guided by the Universe.  Don't you agree?

Hemp Milk Made Easy

If you ever run out of nut milk or organic milk and don't have time to soak the almonds, fret not for those hemp seeds in your freezer/fridge can come to the rescue.  It takes less than a minute to prepare fresh, purely delicious homemade hemp milk. 1 cup hemp seeds 3 cups filtered water 2 medjool dates (pitted) - optional pinch salt 1 tsp vanilla extract Put all the ingredients in a powerful blender (I use a Vitamix) and let it run for 45 seconds.  Skip the dates and salt if you are watching your sugar or sodium in take.  If you want it sweeter, add more dates or some coconut/palm sugar.  Pour into a glass bottle and store in the refrigerator.  For a creamier, thicker consistency, add less water. Consume within 2 days.  To prepare chocolate hemp milk, add 2 tablespoons of raw cacao.  Enjoy! Tip:   Add hemp seeds to your list of must have "pantry" items. Click here to find out more about the benefits of   hemp seeds Cheers! Jyoti

Cheese Anyone?

Right from that first bite into the hot, gooey, stringy mozzarella on a freshly-baked slice of pizza, we feel as if we are in seventh heaven.  Just looking at melted, bubbly cheese makes you salivate. The aroma of oregano and tomato sauce uplifts your spirits.  When we eat cheese, casomorphin an opiate-like, feel good chemical which is highly addictive, is released.  That's why we want more and more....and even more. Just as the cheese on the pizza or the rocky road ice-cream, are so comforting and addicting, there are many who break out with acne, aggravate their sinus issues, or experience bloating, gas or other digestive problems, etc. Going dairy-free is no joke.  However, after watching documentaries such as  Food Matters , Hungry for Change and learning about what really is in that glass of milk, makes it even harder to digest it. When you feel lighter and your complexion starts to clear up, when your tummy doesn't hurt as much and you don't have to pass gas

Milk - To Drink or Not to Drink?

Couple of years ago I was told that I was allergic to casein.  (Casein is a protein found in milk.)  How was I going to survive?  No more cheese, frozen yogurt or chocolate milkshakes?  How could that be?  Where was I going to get my calcium from? When I was a little girl, my mom used to force me to drink hot milk every morning before I left for school.  Yuck! Gross!  In the winter she used to add a raw egg to the hot milk for more protein and to make me stronger to fight the nasty germs so I wouldn't get sick - I could have died before the germs!  Why didn't I find out about this allergy when I was younger?  Could have been spared the tummy aches, coughing and all the spilled milk!  So many children are lactose intolerant. You can get plenty of calcium from almonds, broccoli, chia and sesame seeds.  Definitely better options, true?  These days milk is full of hormones, etc. Little girls are reaching puberty at record-breaking ages.  What about healthy bones?  Here's
